The Cortland Desire fly reels have proved very popular. Beautifully made and precisely finished these reels get our top marks for a quality fly reel at around the £50 mark.

DETAILS

The Cortland Desire fly reel comes in four sizes:

A 3.00" diameter reel for AFTM 3-4 fly lines (plus backing line)
A 3.40" diameter reel for AFTM 5-6 fly lines (plus backing line)
A 3.75" diameter reel for AFTM 7-8 fly lines (plus backing line)
A 4.25" diameter reel for AFTM 8-10 fly lines (plus backing line)

#6-7 Weight: 152g (5.4oz)
#7-8 Weight: 162g (6.0oz)

All versions are about 1.5" wide and have a nice adjustable disc drag which can be easily changed over for left or right hand winding.

CONSTRUCTION

These fly reels are made from strong and durable die cast aluminium which are then CNC machined to give the beautiful finish and precise fit.

OUR OPINION

These are really nice fly reels. They look good with a high quality, low flash finish, they're machined to very close tolerances giving a precise finish that won't trap your fly lines, the drag system is easily adjusted and very smooth and refined and they even have a smart blue cover for the disc drag that gives them an individual touch of colour.

These reels fit very nicely into our range of top quality fly reels. If you're looking for a fly reel at around the £50 mark then these would be our top recommendation.
